When in Prague
My wife was turning 30 and wanted to do and go somewhere nice. She decided that she wanted to go to Prague. When you go on holiday, you make a list of things you want to do and research where you are going. Putting out my hand up, I didn't really do any until the last moment.
The weekend before we we had been due to fly out, we put our cat into a cattery for a 6 days. We can ask family to feed him for couple of days but not for a week. We packed our bags and we straight up to London to stay with family and went to Greenwich. we had a quick walk around Greenwich park and saw some nice animals. Anyway, back to our trip overseas. On Monday we got the the airport in good time, however, when we arrive we got some bad news. Flight Delayed. Great. We decided to have some breakfast and relax.
When we got onto the plane, the fun was only about to start. Everyone was sat down and ready to go and then the stewardess and stewards looks worried. All of a sudden, someone was asked to get off the plane about 3 or 4 rows behind us. They didnt speak English and I think they were Russian. All we could hear it NO, NO, NO. In the end both her and your partner got kicked of the plane by police and her partner was in handcuffs. All in all, the plane was delayed by 2 hours. The flight itself was ok, I don't like flying as it is. I watched a film to take my mind of the flight. I watched Disney's Wreck-It-Ralph before you asked.
We got into Prague ok and got trough the airport in no time at all. very quick and easy. We had arranged for a taxi to be there for us at the airport when we arrived. You know, where there is a person waiting for you with your name on it. How cool is that? Well, it wasn't like that in the end. Due to the delay in the flight, we had no one waiting for us. We had to go over to the desk to ask where the driver was. The only problem was is that the locate of the desk was outside the airport over the other side. Only a 30 minute wait for the driver to arrive and we had to share with another couple. Not what we paid for.
Travel from the airport took around 30 minutes and we arrived in good time. We went to check into the hotel and there was another issue. Apparently, there was a computer issue. This means human error. We had to go to another hotel, a 5 star hotel in fact. It was only for one night. We checked into this hotel and went for a walk. We had a subway kind of sandwich. It was nice. It was raining so we didnt go very far. In the evening, we went out for dinner and had a nice burger. My wife has a chicken burger.
We decided on the first day that if the weather wasn't great on the second day that we would do a
boat trip with food. We got up early and had breakfast. The hotel had someone playing the piano while we had our food. We went for a walk to where we had to buy our tickets for the boat trip and went back to the hotel. We checked out of the hotel and went back to our original hotel. We arrived around 11 o'clock and had been able to check into out room. We had enough time to put our bags in our room and head towards the boat.
The boat trip took around 2 hours and the food was good. The trip was worth the money. When the boat trip finished, the weather was better. After the boat trip, we went to the Old Jewish Cemetery and it makes you think about life and what you have. All the grave stones in such a small place.

On the third day we went to the cathedral and went up the long, high steps. When we reached the top, there appeared to be a film being made as there was a stunt man going through his actions on the top of the steps.
Inside the cathedral, it was lovely. After we finished in the cathedral, we got some food and sat down. We watched, what I think, we a photo shot of an Asian couple who has just got married. The female was in a wedding dress and the gentleman was in suit. Just before and after this, there was 3 girls who took pictures in the same place. It was a little over the top.
We walked around the area and took in the amazing view of Prague. The walk back into the old town square was good and we decided to have a drink at a cafe.
The last night we went for another walk as I wanted to take a couple more with a delayed reaction. On our way back, we saw a group of people around someone with fire. I decided to see if I could take a photo. The result is below. Its not amazing, but I like it.
In the morning, our taxi was late but 30 minutes due to an accident near the airport. We got to the hotel in good time however.
All in all, we had a lovely time away. We would like to go back one day and do it all again. We did see the click in the old town square as well.
